

Yifan is a Syracuse University student pursuing dual majors in architecture (B.Arch ‘25) and Music History and Cultures (B.A. ‘25). With a 4.0 GPA in design, he is a Syracuse University Senior Class Marshal. Professionally, Yifan has worked in offices across four continents, including cities such as Shanghai, New York City, Boston, Madrid, and Kigali (Rwanda). He currently works with faculty-led offices such as MATR Lab and General Architecture Collaborative.
Yifan’s broad research interest engages the political soundscapes, landscapes, and urban spaces. He is a recipient of the SOURCE grant and the Crown Thesis Award, supporting his research about public space in the informal settlements in Africa. Other awards include the 2023 Asian Design Award, Remembrance Scholarship, Maxwell Citizenship Award. He is the 2024 Kaish Fellow of the Syracuse University Art Museum.
